Hi there, I have two beautiful Chinchillas names Dr. Livingston I
Presume and Daliah Manquita (please feel free to re-name them). They
are soft, cute and cuddly. Dr. Livingston is VERY friendly and social,
while Daliah is into being a lap chin. She has been labeled
"unadoptable" because her previous owners abused her, and she lost her
front leg as a result. But chinchillas are SO FREAKIN furry and soft
(50 hairs PER follicle) that you can't even tell. Soft little fur-balls.
I have to give them up because our house has a huge problem with mold,
and since a chinchillas fur is so dense, it is easy for mold to get
trapped in there and sicken them - they can die because of it.
I love them, and would be wracked with guilt for the rest of my life
if they became sick because of this mold...we are doing our best to
take care of the problem, but its turning into a long battle and I
just am not willing to take any chances when it comes to their health.
I am asking a $100 re-homing fee for the both of them to help off-set
costs, but am definitely willing to negotiate for special
circumstances. The cage alone is worth $100 - so the re-homing
includes a 3-level cage with all the toys and food and timothy hay and
dustbath accoutrements they need for a good while.
They are a brother/sister pair, and I am not willing to split them up
- they are snuggle bunnies - and wholly unwilling/incapable of
breeding together.
I've had them for about three months - I love them terribly, and hope
their new adoptive parents will, too.
Please email me with any questions you have - they need a new home ASAP!
thanks,
Kati
